Eri is a wild silk. It is soft and feels amazing on your skin. Its muted luster provides a subtle sheen that really responds well to pressing on silk/wool setting with an iron. Slightly nubby yarn. Fluffy, wool-like version of silk. Can be used for both warp and weft. Beautiful scarves, shawls and wraps. Makes stunning loom controlled laces.
Decided to try my hand at an indigo kit from The Love of Color. The kit was so simple and the outcome was GORGEOUS! It was my very first attempt at dying yarn and it went so smoothly that I thought I must have done something wrong.

Handwoven scarf to sample the Eri Silk Yarn. Pattern created by Tom Knisley. Warp is Eri Silk Yarn in natural and indigo stripes that I dyed myself. 20 EPI. Weft is Eri Silk Yarn natural. White colums are Huck Lace. Incredible drape. Softer than I could have imagined. I LOVE this yarn!
